Khesari Lal Yadav's actual name is Shatrughan Kumar Yadav. He was born in a poor family and hence had to dropout from school and support his father. He decided to try his luck in films and hence after a lot of struggle, he finally got his first break through Bhojpuri film Sajan Chale Sasural in the year 2011. The movie was a smash hit and his performance was hailed by the audience. This was just the beginning of what was about to come.
He did various roles in nearly 50 Bhojpuri films that he has been a part of. He has been felicitated with the Best Popular Actor at the Bhojpuri Film Awards 2016. For his contribution to Bhojpuri cinema, he has been felicitated with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award and the Up Ratan award in the year 2017. In addition to actor, he is also a singer and his most noted album is Maal Bhetai Mela Me. In 2019, he participated in Bigg Boss 13 as a contestant.
