Anne Murray Complete Bio & Career
Professionally known as Anne Murray, she is a Canadian pop, country, and contemporary singer. She holds the fame for being the first Canadian female solo artist to reach the top position on the US Music Charts. Murray was also the first one to receive a Gold record for her song ‘Snowbird’. She was the first Canadian and the first woman to win the Country Music Association Awards’ prestigious ‘Album of the Year Award’ in 1984 for her album ‘A Little Good News’. She was ranked at the 10th position on Billboard’s list of 50 Greatest Adult Contemporary Artists of All-time.
In her career spanning about 40 years, Murray has released 32 studio albums and 15 compilation albums. Her debut album ‘What About Me’ was released in the year 1968. Other popular albums of Anne Murray are ‘This Way Is My Way’, ‘Talk It Over in the Morning’, ‘Annie’, ‘Danny’s Song’, ‘Love Song’, ‘Let’s Keep It That Way’, ‘New Kind of Feeling’, ‘A Little Good News’, ‘Heart Over Mind’, ‘As I Am’, ‘What a Wonderful World’, ‘ I’ll be Seeing You’ and others. Her 33 singles and 7 albums have peaked several music charts across the world.
For her glorious career, she has received numerous esteemed accolades and titles including four Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, Canadian Country Music Association Awards, twenty-four Junos and much more. Murray has her own star on the Hollywood WalkOfFame. This popular singer has been inducted into the Juno Hall of Fame, Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame and others. She was awarded an Honorary degree by Mount Saint Vincent Degree in May 2016.
