Boris Becker’s full name is Boris Franz Becker. He began playing the sport of Tennis from the young age of 8. He used to practice in Germany with another future legendary player Steffi Graf. He decided to take tennis as a full-time profession and therefore dropped out in 10th standard and started training with the West German Tennis Federation. He turned pro at the young age of 16 in the year 1984.
 
He immediately made his mark in the game after making his debut in 1984. With a powerful serve and his ability to cover the maximum court area made him literally unplayable and at 17years and 7months old, he lifted the coveted Wimbledon Trophy in the year 1985. He not only became the youngest player then to lift the trophy but also the maiden non-seeded player to lift this trophy. He defended his title the following year beating the legendary Ivan Lendl in the finals. He won his 5th Grand Slam title by outplaying Ivan Lendl in the Australian Open 1991. After which, he became the number one ranked player for the first time in his career. 
 
However, his form dipped soon and it took him 5 years to lift the Grand Slam title again and won his 6th and the final Grand Slam trophy at the Australian Open 1996 by defeating Michael Chang. Besides Grand Slam, he was a force to reckon with at the Davis Cup. He won 22 singles matches at the Davis Cup and was instrumental in West Germany winning the Davis Cup titles in 1988 and 1989. He also won the World Tour finals thrice in his career. He also holds an Olympic Gold medal which he won with Michael Stitch as his doubles partner in the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona. He finally bid adieu to an outstanding career after the 1999 Wimbledon. He ended his career with 49 titles to his name and around $25million as prize money won. 
 
After retirement, he was inducted into Tennis Hall of Fame in 2003. He also started a tennis apparel and tennis equipment business. He also served as a coach of legendary tennis player Novak Djokovic for 3 years. He is currently seen as a commentator at Grand Slams. In 2004, he released his autobiography titled The Player.

The couple together has a son named Amadeus Benedict Edley Luis Becker.
