Dara’s talent was recognized when he was in school and college. He was the auditor of Literary and Historical Society in University College Dublin. He worked as a child TV presenter after leaving college. He hosted the children’s program ‘Echo Island’ for 3 years in both English and Irish. He garnered attention for his show ‘Don’t Feed the Gondolas’.
 
Dara gained popularity across the globe as a Presenter and Comedian. He soon started touring extensively and performed in different countries like Dubai, Shanghai, New York, and Paris. Meanwhile, he also presented the game show ‘It’s a Family Affair’. Some of his notable television work includes ‘The Panel, ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’, ‘Bring Me the Head of Light Entertainment’. He also appeared in the comedy series ‘The Infinite Monkey Cage’ and hosted a panel show named ‘Dara O Brian’s Go 8 Bit’. Overall he has appeared in many panel shows and as a TV presenter.
 
Dara won the ‘Best Headliner’ Award two times in the year 2003 and 2004. His name was also included in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2011 for hosting the highest number of comedy gig in the world on a British flight. He married a surgeon named Susan in the year 2006 and the couple has two children from their marriage.
