Delia Smith Complete Bio & Career

Delia Smith is a cook and presents it on television. She is of British descent and is a celebrity chef in Britain. Her first job was working at a hair salon. At the same time, she also worked as an assistant at a shop. She took an interest in cooking at the age of twenty-one. Her first job at a restaurant was at The Singing Chef. Then, in the year 1969, she became a writer for the Daily Mirror’s magazine for the cookery section.
 
The first section which she wrote for the magazine was a dish of beef in beer and cheesecake. Later, she wrote columns for the Evening Standard. Her stardom came when she started to host a cooking show called Family Fare. The show ran for two years on television. She wanted to provide more information than what just came in her shows. This is what led her to write three books that were about cooking.
 
In the year 1998, she had her own cooking show which was called Delia’s How to Cook. It was widely watched, and items that she used would find high sales after she used them on her show. An example of this is an omelette pan which she used in 2008. In the year 2010, she was booked to do forty commercials which were all for the store Waitrose. The Cook retired in 2013 from her days of cooking programs on television.
 
Delia Smith is a Roman Catholic and has written three books about religion. Two of them are short books, and A Journey to God is a long book. Her husband is Michael Wynn-Jones and they both own the majority shares of a company, Norwich City F.C. The couple lives in Stowmarket.
