Diya Mirza won the title of "Miss Asia Pacific" on Dec 2, 2000 in Manila, Philippines. In that beauty contest, she also won two more awards, like "Miss Beautiful Smile" as well as "The Sony Best Choice Award". Her father Frank Hendrick is a German interior designer. When she was 6 years old, their parents separated.After her mother “Deepa Mirza" married to "Ahmed Mirza"so that’s why, whose name was Mirza. Her real father Frank Hendrick died when she was just 9 years old.She started her education with "Vidyaranya High School, Hyderabad" followed by Dia Mirza graduated from "Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad".
When she won the Miss Asia Pacific title she became more popular and she getting noticed by the Bollywood filmmaker as well as director wanted to cast her in their upcoming films.Though she started her filmy career with the film "Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein" released in 2001 opposite R Madhavan.This was a successful film at the box office.For her brilliant acting in her debutant film she won the Zee Cine Awards and Bollywood movie award for Best Debut: Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.
After enjoying the success of the RHTDM, she appeared in various other Bollywood hit films. Some of the hit films of which, she has been a part of are Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Dum, Kyun...! Ho Gaya Na, Blackmail, Phir Hera Pheri, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Krazzy 4, and Sanju.
She produced the 2014, Hindi film Bobby Jasoos starring Vidya Balan Ali Fazal,and Arjan Bajwa.In 2016,she made her Tv debut through the show Ganga - The Soul of India on Channel Living Foodz. Apart from films she is also actively involved into the social as well as charitable works such as she along with Bollywood star Aamir Khan publicly declared for the support of Narmada Bachao Andolan. In 2017, she was appointed as the brand ambassador of the Wildlife Trust of India on the World Environment Day. She has also been appointed as the UN "Environment’s Goodwill Ambassador for India".
