Dulquer Salmaan Complete Bio & Career
Dulquer Salmaan was born to a superstar actor and hence acting was in his blood. However, his father made it clear that he will be acting only after he finishes his studies. After his school-level education, he relocated to the US and obtained his graduate degree in Business Management from the famous Purdue University. Post his education, he worked for some time in the US and then did business in Dubai.
However, his interest in acting brought him to India, and to learn acting, he enrolled at the Barry John Acting School in Mumbai. Soon he was roped in by Srinath Rajendran in his Malayalam action film called Second Show in the year 2012. His performance was highly appreciated and also won him the Best Male Debut Award that year along with various other awards. This was just the beginning of a great career that will garner millions of fans. He established himself in the Malayalam film industry with films like Ustad Hotel and ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi among others. He then started getting offers from Tamil and other south Indian language films as well. He made his Tamil film debut with the film titled Vaayai Moodi Pesavum in the year 2014. He won the Best Debut Male award in Tamil as well. For his performance in the Malayalam film Charlie, he won himself Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor.
After having established himself in the South Indian film industry, he finally made his Bollywood film debut with much acclaimed Bollywood film Karwaan in the year 2018. He shared screen space with veteran Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan in this film. The film was a hit at the box office and helped him find more roles in Bollywood. He will be next seen in Abhishek Sharma’s romantic film The Zoya Factor. He is cast opposite Sonam Kapoor in this film. Among all the films that he has worked on in his anthology art film, Solo needs a special mention. He made his debut as a film producer with the Malayalam family drama movie Varane Avashyamund in 2020.
In addition to acting, he is also an established singer and has sung various of his songs himself. For his song "Chundari Penne", he was also nominated for the Best Playback Singer Malayalam in 2016. In 2021, he was seen in the Malayalam film Kurup, a biographical film based on fugitive Sukumara Kurup. Next, he was seen in Sita Ramam, Salute, King of Kotha, and Lucky Baskhar. In 2025, he was seen in the Tamil drama thriller film 'Kaantha' opposite Bhagyashri Borse, Rana Daggubati, P. Samuthirakani, and others.
