Ila Arun is an admired singer, well-established actress and a glorious TV personality. She did her graduation from Maharani Girls College in Jaipur. IlaArun is renowned for her heavy and husky voice and unbelievable talent, which she possesses. She made her first onscreen debut in a Hindi TV serial Lifeline (Jeevanrekha), which emphasised the routine life of doctors that aired on Doordarshan. 
 
She has a desirous and acute interest in singing folk songs and has promoted folk singing to an exceptional height. India’s first folk album was ‘Banjaran’ by composed solely by IlaArun. It was launched in India in the year 1983 and consisted of folk songs ofRajasthanand Gujarat. They were powerful and enchanting folk songs. She was a well deserving nominee of the Filmfare best singer award in 1993 and eventually bagged it for the song “Cholikepeechhekyahai”. She has sung a huge number of folk albums. She was one of the singers involved in the famous IPL song HallaBol(promotional song). 
 
Regarding acting, she has essayed the role of MahamAnga in Jodha Akbar and it became a hit. She has also acted in films such as Well Done Abba, Welcome to Sajjanpur, China Gate, Chingari, West is West and Ghatak. Recently, she has acted inSamvidhaan which is a TV mini-series on the making of the Constitution of India by essaying the role of Smt. Hansa Mehta. 
 
She had impartially judged a few reality shows based on singing. She feels that theatre is the most quintessential part of her life and so now she performs the titular role of ‘Bibi’ in ‘The House of BilquisBibi’ in the UK. She sleeps for just 4 hours a day and works in the remaining, which proves her to be a hardworking and strong woman. She has advised that it takes the time to gather stardom and one should be patient enough.
