Imtiaz Ali is an applaud director and writer for the Indian film industry. He was a student of Hindu College where he was a successful theater artist. He also has a diploma certificate from Xavier Institute of Communication.
 
He started his career by directing some TV serials. His best-directed programs were Imtihaan in Doordarshan and Kurukshetra in Zee TV. He was also a good actor. In 2004 he was seen in a cameo appearance in the movie BLACK Friday. His first movie was Socha Na Tha in 2005 as a director which was not a successful movie. But this movie was highly praised due to the good direction on the romance of the movie. In 2007 a movie named Jab We Met having the casting of Sahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor have added an augment to his career. This movie got Filmfare Award for Best dialog. He was the director along with the writer for this movie.
 
His biggest adored and renowned commercial was Love Aaj Kal with Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. This movie is known as his biggest success. This movie was also nominated for Filmfare Award for best story and director. Then in 2011 Rockstar movie was released in which Imtiaz Ali was both director and writer.
 
He also won a company for film production. And the company is named Window Seat Films. The highway was the first movie released by this company. The film was released with Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt. This film was nominated for Filmfare Award for the best story and released in 2014. After this, his movie named Tamasha with Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor was released in 2015. His latest movie is The Ring which is an upcoming movie with Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. The movie is both directed and written by Imtiaz Ali with co-producer Shahrukh Khan.
