Jason Derulo rose through the ranks and became famous worldwide after his debut single ‘Whatcha Say’ was released in August 2009. It peaked at Number 1 in the US as well as New Zealand. This song sold in excess of 5 million downloads. After a smashing debut single, he released his much-awaited second single titled "In My Head" was released in 2009. The success of back to back hit singles made him one of the hottest singing sensations.
 
He started singing at a very young age and was also writing the lyrics of his songs. He had a knack of playing with words and had a creative mind of which he took full advantage and started off by writing lyrics for songs sung by Lil Wayne, Donnie Klang, Danity Kane and Diddy among others. He started writing from the age of 8 and soon realized that he has it in him to become a singer one day and thus while still in teens, he became a singer. To date, he has released 6 albums and all of them have been a huge hit. Some of his singles like ‘It Girl’ and ‘Marry Me’ are among the biggest hit songs of his career thus far.
 
In addition to singing, he has also served as the judge of the famous reality show So You Think You Can Dance in 2014 and 2015 seasons.
