Born on 10 October 1945, Jaya Prakash Reddy was a Telugu actor. He essayed the role of Veera Raghava Reddy in the film, Samarasimha Reddy. This film was highly praised and also bought him into the limelight. He is often called JP.
 
He also has some villain roles to his credit. In the movies like Jayam Manade Raa and Chennakesava Reddy, he played bad man roles. Apart from this, he did numerous comedy films. He has done a lot of Telugu movies. He played the role of mayor in the movie, Shatruvu. In 1990 he did movies like Lorry Driver and Bobbili Raja. He played the role of Veerabadrayya in a movie named, preminchukundam Raa which was released in 1997. His role of sub-inspector in the movie, Anandam was highly appreciated by the audience. In 2002, he did a movie, Chennakeshana reddy in which he played the role of Venkat Reddy. His movie named, Chatrapati was released in 2005. He also featured in movies like Aaru, Nijam, Anjaneya, and Chinna. Besides Telugu movies, he did one Kannada film also named, Citizen in 2008. He was seen in the role of the home minister in the movie.
 
His later movies include Amar Akbar Anthony,  Crazy Crazy feeling, lover, MLA, and Jai Simha. On 8 September 2020, he died due to cardiac arrest. His death is a great loss to the world. The Telugu industry lost a great actor.
