John Sidney McCain III was born on 29 August 1936. By profession, he was an American politician and a military officer. He completed his studies from the United States Naval academy. He also worked as a senator for Arizona. He also stood in the 2008 presidential elections against Barack Obama. He also served as a Naval Aviator. His participation in the Vietnam war almost lead him to his death but fortunately, he survived. He also served in the navy as its captain in 1981.
 
He also served two terms in the United States House of representatives in 1982. In 1987, he was elected for the post of the senate. He also restored diplomatic relations with Vietnam in the 1990s. He also competed for the post of president in 2000 but lost it to George W. Bush. He was against the Barack Obama administration. He refused to lend his support to Donald Trump in 2016. He also battled with Brain cancer in 2017. He commenced his career in the military and received two and a half years of training for the same. Initially, as an aircraft carrier, he was careless but eventually his skills improved. Soon McCain became a lieutenant Commander in 1967. After being a prisoner of war, he decided to leave the navy and got retired on 1 April 1981.
 
Then he opted for political positions. The foreign policy of the Reagon administration was supported by him. He was appointed as a senator in 1987. He was also one of the main authors of the Indian gaming regulatory act. A speech was also delivered by him at the republican national convention. He also served as the chairman of the international republican institute. Soon a label was applied to McCain named, Maverick republican. He was also named as one of the most influential people in America. He also received criticism on accepting funds from Corporations. He funded anti-smoking campaigns in 1998. For his campaign on finance reform, he received a profile in courage award in 1999. He also undertook writing and his Book, Faith of My Fathers was published in 1999. The book became a bestseller and was selling like a hot cake. He had a strong dislike for George W. Bush. McCain also competed for the re-election as a senator. He supported immigration reform during his office term. McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate in the 2008 presidential elections. But he received wide criticism for his selection. He also held a position in the project vote smart established by Richard Kimball.
