Jon Cryer is arguably one of the best American director and actor. He is best known for his role in the television series ‘Two and a Half Men,’ and the film ‘Pretty in Pink’. His parents werr associated with the entertainment industry, so in a way it was very natural and organic for him to think of making a career in acting from a very young age. He made his acting debut through the Broadway play ‘Torch Song Trilogy,’. Post that, he played some petty roles in movies and television serials. He finally got his first major break after he was roped in the romantic comedy movie called ‘Pretty Pink’ in the year 1986. This was the beginning of what was about to come as his next credits made him one of the most sought after actors of his generation.
He turned writer with the film The Pompatus of Love which released in the year 1996. After he was roped in the long running series Two and a Half Men, he stayed away from silver screen for 5 years. His performance in the serries won him two Emmy awards and things started changing better for him. His recent film was Big Time Adolescence which released in 2019. He though is a consistent figure on small screen and Will & Grace, Drop the Mic, and Who Do You Think You Are? among others. He is currently working on the television series Supergirl.
In addition to acting, he has also tried his hands and writing and prodcuing the films. His produced film ‘Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God... Be Back by Five,’ was screened at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was highly appreciated. In 2015, he also penned down the book titled So That Happened,’ which was actually a memoir of 30 years of his career in the industry.
