Liam Payne is a singer and songwriter from England. He gained prominence as a member of the pop boy band One Direction.
In 2008, Payne auditioned for the fifth installment of the popular British Singing reality show ‘The X Factor’ at the age of 14. Although he made it through the first stage, he was subsequently cut off the show. However, Simon Cowell who was one of the judges of the show asked him to come back in two years. Payne got back to the show in 2010 and was very impressive as he got for yeses from the judges. During the boot camp stage of the show, he was put together with other four boys to form a boy-band. The group performed with the name of ‘One Direction’ and emerged at the third position in the show. They gained immense popularity in the United Kingdom. Later, the group signed to Syco Entertainment record label in 2010. They went on to release their first studio album titled ‘Up All Night’ in 2011. This was followed by other albums ‘Take Me Home’, ‘Midnight Memories’, ‘Four’, and ‘Made in the A.M’. Liam Payne is one of the key writers in the band and he also stepped up to take vocals after the departure of the band member Zayn Malik.
Apart from One Direction, he also worked as a producer and came up with several popular remixes. He has also found Hampton Music Limited to publish his solo projects in the future. He has collaborated with several artists including DJ Mustard, Pharrell Williams, Juicy J, Miguel and others for his new projects. After signing with Capitol Records in 2016, he released his debut solo single titled ‘Strip That Down’ in May 2017.
He was named ‘Sexiest Man of the Year’ by the Attitude Magazine and was also included in the lists of ‘Sexiest Men’ by Glamour magazine in 2012 and 2013.
