She had a keen interest in acting. Therefore, De Havilland debuted her career as an actress with the film "A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Mr. Max Reinhardt and William Dieterle in 1934. It was an American fantasy and romantic movie. The theme of this film was based on the play of the famous writer "William Shakespears". She played the role of Hermia where she first time faced the camera, lights, screening etcetera. She learned here, how to showed her act in front of the camera.
