Parupalli Kashyap was born on 08-09-1986 in Hyderabad in the state of Telangana, India. He is an Indian Badminton Player.

P Kashyap started playing Badminton at the age of 11. It was his father who enrolled him at Syed Mohammad Arif training camp to get proper training in Badminton. Due to the movable job of his father, his family relocated to Bangalore. When he was residing in Bangalore, he joined the Prakash Padukone’s Badminton Academy for getting the Badminton training. In 2004, he returned back to Hyderabad. It was the time when he came to know about his health diseases as he is suffering from asthma.
 
However, with proper treatment at the time, and with strong will very soon he got cure of this illness and then again started training for Badminton from Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy situated in Hyderabad. In 2005, while playing for Andhra Pradesh in his first ever badminton match in the National-Junior-Open-Badminton-Championship he ended up winning the title of boys' singles. In 2006, at the Bitter burger Open, he reached at 64th position out of 100 in the world ranking when he recorded the victory in this tournament. 
 
After that, his world ranking reached 19 in 2012, when he reached in the quarterfinals of men's singles at the London Olympics and became the first Indian male athlete to reach this far in badminton. In the following year, he reached the 14th position after winning the title of Indian Open Grand Prix Gold in men's singles. In 2014, he won a gold medal for India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. He became the thrid Indian male shuttler after Prakash Padukone and Syed Modi to win the gold medal at the Commonwealth games.
