Prashant Damle is Amitabh Bachchan of Marathi film industry. In a career of over three and a hald decade, he has worked in numerous Marathi plays, films and television series. He is arguably one of the biggest star of Marathi theatre industry. In his career, he has been conferred with various prestigious awards. He has thus far performed in over 10k drama shows, nearly 40 Marathi feature films and 25 Marathi tv series. He also has 5 Limca Book Records to his name.
 
He started performing from his school and college days. It was during his college life that he got the opportunity to be a part of famous Marathi play called "Tur Tur". He gave a career defining performance and since then has performed in nearly 11k Marathi drama shows. After getting noticed from Marathi theatre he got his maiden acting offer by Mr. Raj Dutt in his Marathi film "Pudhcha Paul" in the year 1986. Thsi film marked his acting debut and since than has worked in some of the most noted Marathi films such as "Savat Majhi Ladki", "Pasant Aahe Mulagi", "Ina Meena Deeka", "Atma Vishwas", and "Tu tithe Mi" among various others. 
 
In addition to films, he has also worked in a range of Marathi television series and Hindi series as well. He suffered a heart-attack in 2013 but that didn't stop him from working. After a short break he again resumed his work but this time with a slow pace. He has also hosted a number of reality shows such as Aaj Kay special, Saregamapa Season 11, and Amhi Saare Khavayye among others. He is arguably one of the biggest stars that Marathi industry has ever produced.
