Rahibai Soma Popere belongs to small town 'Kombhalne' at Akole, Maharashtra, India. She is not well educated yet she represents the native agriculture techniques in India. She usually do farming in the fields and transformed new diversity of crops in her whole journey of life.
Moreover, she cultivated 17 new species of crops in her own fields which were visited by BAIF Development Research Foundation in 2017. The vegetative propagation grown by her is able to pay all the dietary requirements that a person need to stay fit. Along with this, she produced new variety of hyacinth beans which becomes beneficial for villagers. After the adventure of these beans, Mr. Raghunath Mashelkar who is the general director of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, gave her the title of "Seed Mother".
Apart from this, Rahibai Soma not only good at cultivation of crops but also introduced some new methods to provide proper water supply, manure, fertilizer etctera to fields. The conservationist also gives lesson on seed selection, soil and the amount of manure to the farmers and her students. Additionally, she has an excellent hand in 4 step paddy cultivation. Popere has get information to begin her own poultry farm with the support of Maharashtra Institute of Technology Transfer to help the Rural Area people.
