Rocky Marciano was born on 01-09-1923 in Brockton, Plymouth in the state of Massachusetts, United States. He was an American Boxer.

Rocky Marciano Complete Bio & Career

Born as Rocco Francis Marchegiano, he was a well-known professional boxer from America. 
 
After dropping out of school after 10th grade, Marciano worked as a chute man, railroad layer, ditch digger, and shoemaker. He was drafted into the United States Army for a period of about two years. In his amateur boxing career, he won the Amateur Armed Forces Boxing Tournament in 1946.  After leaving amateur boxing, he returned to Brockton and started training in boxing. He officially began professional boxing career in June 1948. He won his first sixteen matches by knockout, that too within the fifth round and nine games won before the completion of the first rounds. After more wins, he faced Roland La Starza in March 1950, where he won on a supplemental point system to end La Starza’s winning streak of 37-0. The subsequent bouts witnessed Joe Louis’s last career bout after facing defeat by Marciano. At the age of 29, Marciano became the World HeavyWeight Champion after defeating Jersey Joe Walcott. He later faced light heavyweight legend and former World Heavyweight Champion, Ezzard Charles who turned out to be the only man t have lasted for 15 rounds against Rocky Marciano before facing defeat. Marciano had his last title match in September 1955, before he declared his retirement in April 1956. He ended his professional boxing career with a record 49-0, which was recently broken by Floyd Mayweather. He had won 43 of them by knockout. 
 
Also known as The Rock from Brockton and The Brockton Blockbuster, Marciano was recognized for his grim fighting style.
