Shubha Khote Complete Bio & Career
Shubha Khote was born in a family of actors and hence acting came naturally to her. She completed her school level education from St. Teresa's High School, Charni Road, Mumbai. During her school days, she was into sports and was women’s champion in cycling and swimming for three successive years from 1952 to 1955. She obtained her graduate degree from Wilson College in Mumbai.
Her acting debut was made at the tender age of 4 after she played a child artist role in a Marathi stage play. She made her Bollywood debut through the film titled Seema in the year 1955. Her cycling skills were the main reason for her getting that film. She played the lead actress role in the decade of the 1950s and 1960ss. She made a formidable pair with legendary actor Mehmood and together they starred in hit films like Sasural, Ziddi, Chhoti Behan, Love in Tokyo, and Humrahi among others. She also played negative roles in films like Ek Dujje Ke Liye and Paying Guest among others.
From the decade of the 1980s, she started playing lead actor’s mothers role and Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Saudagar (1991), and Sirf Tum was highly appreciated. She was last seen in Bollywood film Toilet Ek Prem Katha. In addition to acting, she has also produced and directed various stage plays, films, and television series. Her series Zaban Sambhal Ke was among the biggest hits of her career. In addition to Hindi, she has also worked in Marathi series called Eka Lagnachi Teesri Goshta which was aired on Zee Marathi.
