Silambarasan Complete Bio & Career

Silambarasan is a well-known Indian film actor, music director, singer, and lyricist from the Tamil film industry. His name is often mentioned as Silambarasan, S. T. R., or Silambarasan TR. He has a film background as his parents belong to the industry.  He went to Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School and then St.John's International Residential School for his schooling. He also attended a few more schools in Chennai. He graduated from Loyola College, Chennai.
 
He was interested in acting from his childhood. He appeared for the first time on screen as a child artist in his father’s film ‘Uravai Kaatha Kili’. Later, he worked in more movies of his father, such as Thai Thangai Paasam, En Thangai Kalyani, Oru Vasantha Geetham, Enga Veetu Velan,  Oru Thayin Sabhatham, Monisha En Monalisa, Shanti Enathu Shanti, Samsara Sangeetham, Sabash Babu, and more. He danced on the song  "I am a Little Star, Aaaven Naan Super Star". His first protagonist role was in the movie ‘Kadhal Azhivathillai‘ in 2002 as Simbhu opposite Charmy Kaur. The movie was produced by his mother and his father was the director. His second film was ‘Dum’. The movie did well at the box-office. His next film ‘Alai' turned out to be a flop. His career took off in the year 2004. Three movies of his, Kovil, Kuththu, and Manmadhan were successful at box office. Thotti Jaya, Saravana, Vallavan, Kaalai, and Silambattam were his next projects. During the initial period of his career; he had worked most of the movies directed by his father. Gautham Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa gave him a successful hit in the year 2010. 2011 turned in a good year for him as his movies Vaanam and Osthe did well. Idhu Namma Aalu and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada were commercially successful movies for him. 
 
Apart from acting, he also sang more than 60 songs with different music directors, first being for the movie ‘Sonnal Thaan Kaadhala‘. He has also written lyrics for many of his songs and has sung them in collaboration with music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. "Love Anthem For World Peace and Love" was his non-film single, which was created to promote world peace.
 
He has written 2 Tamil movies titled ‘Manmadhan’ and ‘Vallavan’. He also sang "Seruppu Song" for the movie ‘En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom’ in 2017. He is the lyricist for "Trend Song" and "Spiritual Gaana". Next, he was seen in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, Eeswaran, Maanaadu, Pathu Thala & Thug Life. Soon, he will be seen in the Tamil film 'Arasan' opposite Andrea Jeremiah.
 
He has worked as a composer for Sakka Podu Podu Raja. He has received many prestigious awards, including the Government of Tamil Nadu’s ‘Kalamamani’. He is also Tamil Nadu’s brand ambassador for the soft drink brand 7 Up.
