She was born daughter to a Gujarati businessman Chunnibhai and his mother name was Betty. Born and brought up in Scotland. She came to India at an early age to pursue her career in Bollywood like her elder sister Dimple who was already an established actress by then. Although she could never match her sister in terms of popularity.
She made her Bollywood debut opposite her brother in law Rajesh Khanna with the film Anurodh. The Movie did reasonably well and she too didn’t go unnoticed. She was bombarded with a lot of offers after her first movie. Her movies started taking a beating and even after doing as many as 20 films her last role was an item song in the movie Parakh.
Simple Kapadia started her second inning as a costume designer and was highly praised. She designed costumes for top actresses then, Amrita Singh and Sridevi and among current actress Priyanka Chopra. She also won national award for costume designing in the year 1993 for movie Rudaali.
