Sonali Kulkarni showed her dancing skills in the second season of the popular celebrity-dance competition show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on Sony TV. Kulkarni will be seen in a yet to be named Netflix thriller soon. From"Abhinava Vidyalaya"  she completed her schooling and she was graduated from "Ferguson College".After her studies, she was more inclined towards making her career in acting and she attended the Satyadev Dubey's acting workshops before appearing in films.
 
She made her acting debut from the Girish Karnad directed Kannada film Cheluvi, by Doordarshan production in 1992. Then in 1994, she made her debut in Hindi films from the Hindi film Gulabari as Gulabari.In the same following year, she made her debut in another language such as Mukta-Marathi and May Madham-Tamil. In 1996, she got a chance to work in her career first English film Vrindavan Film Studios as Radha. In this year she was cast in the Marathi film "Kata Rute Kunala" which was telecasted on the Telecast on Doordarshan and for that film, she won the "RAPA Award" for Best-television-performance-of-the- year.
 
In 1999, she was starred in the Star-Bestseller-Tv series Kya Yahi Pyaar Hai. Then after her career was on the track and she until then established her in the film industry. In the meantime, she was engaged with another language films such as Mission Kashmir, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar(English), Dil Chahta Hai,Kitne Door Kitne Paas,Dil Vil Pyar Vyar,Bride & Prejudice(English)  and Fuoco Su di me (Italian),for that film she won the award at the 2006-Milan-International festival.
 
After 2005, she signed the big banner films in which the ace Bollywood directors directed some of the films. And the numbers of the films in which she was appeared such as Taxi Number 9211, Strangers, Gabhricha Paus(Marathi)Mohandas, Gandha(Marathi), Love Khichdi, Mumbai Cutting, Singham, Well Done Abba, Deool(Marathi), The Good Road(Gujarati), Aga Bai Arechyaa 2(Marathi), Poster Boys. From 2005-2007, she was also an editor for Viva (Which is a supplement of the Marathi-Daily -Newspaper named "Loksatta"). Even she wrote the weekly column  "So Kool".Though these columns were published in the Book Rajahansa Prakashan.
