The very famous Australian cricketer Steve Smith has surely had his name in cricket. Serving as the current captain of the Australian team he is going to stay to make big records and name as a Test team captain, One day and T-20. He is not a big name just like this but is one of all-rounder who could ball and primarily plays as batsmen now.
 
Smith, was born to an English mother and an Australian father who dealt with chemistry and worked with pigments and waxes. He did his schooling from Menai High School but at an early age of 17, he dropped out of it for he wanted to pursue his career being a cricketer. He went on to England to play cricket. He is a great horse racing fan and a leading rugby player. He is also a big Tennis fan especially likes Roger Federer.
 
He started his career by playing junior cricket with Illawong Cricket Club and played for his first season. He played 11 seasons and played 3 games in the last year. During the same year, he won the Club’s Junior Cricketer award twice the same year. He stroked his first century in the year 1998/99. He made records by scoring 6 centuries with the maximum score of 141 and was not out.
 
He then made his International cricket debut with the match against Pakistan in the T20 International matches at Melbourne in the year 2010. During the 2010 ICC World Twenty 20, Australia stood runner-up to West Indies but Smith was the one who emerged as the winner in own ways by grabbing 11 wickets in just 7 matches and had an average of 14.81.
 
In IPL to Smith is a hot property, having played for Rajasthan Royals and Pune Warriors India before, he was contracted with Rising Pune Supergiant. He successfully leads his team to the finals of IPL 10. He was banned from cricket for a year after ball tampering case that broke out in 2018 when Australia toured South Africa. He served his ban and returned to competitive cricket by playing in Bangladesh Premier League. He injured his shoulder there and had to miss out the entire season after playing just a few games. He after missing out on IPL 2018, returned in IPL 2019 and played some match-winning knocks for his side.
