She pursued her schooling from Sacred Heart Matriculation Sr. Sec. School, Church Park Chennai. She completed her Graduation in Bachelor in Business Administration from Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai.
 
Initially, she wanted to be a Criminal Psychologist but the Title of Miss Salem and Miss Madras the same year 1999 changed her mind towards modelling and Film Industry. She was also starred in Phaluni Pathak’s “Meri Chunar ud as Ayesha Takis’s friend. She also won the Title of Miss Beautiful smile in 2001 in the Miss India 2001 pageant. Her tight schedule in modelling career restricted her to complete her studies but she still did hard work and completed her studies by taking summer classes.
 
Trisha got the first chance in Tamil Movie Jodi as a friend of a Lead actress but the role was uncredited. Soon after the ace Director of South Priyadarshan in 2003 gave her a chance in Movie  Lesa Lesa and A.R. Rehman’s Musical hit Ennaku 20 Unnaku 18 but the project were delayed and before that Tamil Movie Mounam Pesiyadhegot her success and remembrance in Film Industry. Her second project Manasellam didn’t go well on Box Office. Moreover, Sammy and Masala Flick fulfilled her dreams to be successful. 
 
The Movie Varsham was her Telegu Debut romantic movie directed by M.S. Raju considered a big hit and gave her CineMAA Best Actress Award. After that the chain of Awards didn’t stop Kalaimamani Award, CineMAA Best Actress Award for Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, she received. NuvvostananteNenoddantana, Athadu are also on the list for Best Actress.
 
In 2009,  Sarvam, Arya and Sankham didn’t work well on Box Office but it didn’t let her confidence down as She shaken up the Tamil cinema again with her romantic movie  Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya in 2010 and filled his list of Award with Vijaya Award for Favorite Heroine. She got the nomination for Best Actress for her Bollywood Debut Khatta Meetha opposite Akshay Kumar. She is a Goodwill Ambassador for PETA and endorsing various Brands Like Fanta India, Scooty Pep and Fairever Fairness Cream.
