Vanitha Vijaykumar was born in a family of actors where her parents are both reputed actors in the industry and her siblings too earned a name for themselves in the industry. She in a career spanning for almost 25 years did a handful of movies but has still made impact in whatever little work she has done.
She started off by acting in Chandralekha in the year 1995. The film did well at the box-office but she failed to garner attention towards her. She soon made her Malayalam and Telugu film debut through films such as Hitler Brothers and Devi repsectively. She took retirement from acting post her marriage in 2000. She made a comeback 14 years later in 2013 through the Tamil film Naan Rajavaga Pogiren. The film did average at the box-office. The very same year, she was seen in Summa Nachunu Irukku. She played a supporting role in the film. She tried an unsuccessful attempt at producing film as well. She made her debut as a producer through the film titled MGR Sivaji Rajini Kamal in 2015. The film went unoticed and she too hasn't been seen on screen since then. She made an entry to the Bigg Boss Tamil house in 2019 but was evicted soon.
