Anel's actual name is Ana Elena Noreña Grass. She was chubby and a doctor advised her pills to slim down. After getting in shape, she contested at Miss Mexico contest in Los Angeles and emerged winner. This is how her journey in the entertainment world started. She made her acting debut through the Mexican film titled Tápame contigo in the year 1970. She was active in the industry till her marriage in 1975 and appeared in films like Los novios, El arte de engañar, and Tonta, tonta, pero no tanto among others. Post her marriage, she quit the industry.
Her marriage life though wasn't easy and after divorcing her husband in 1990, she again made her into films and television. Her comeback film was Alcanzar una estrella II in the year 1991. In the later part of her career, she was seen in episodic roles in telenovas such as Mujer, casos de la vida real, and Mujeres Asesinas 2 among others.
