Betty Lou Bredemus was born on August 13, 1934. She was the mother of prestigious award (Oscar) winner actress Julia Roberts, Eric Roberts and the grandmother of Emma Roberts who has also served in the US Air Force. National Defense Service had honoured her with a medal for her services and contribution for Air Force base theatrical productions. She got married to Walter Grady Roberts in 1955, with whom she played in the play" George Washington"the first time and they got attracted towards each other.

 In April 1956 Bredemus and Grady Roberts got their first child who turned out to be a famous actor named Eric Roberts. In 1960, She started working at (Emory University) in the public relations area. In 1965, This couple decided to produce a program called "Bum Bum and his Buddies". In the first episode, Brad played the role of Bum Bum the clow. They both had created a short series named "Creole Capers". On the completion of just only fifteen episodes of "Buddies", This couple got indulged in creating a workshop for specifically Atlanta (Actors and writers) to help them cope with training programs for youth ages up to eighteen. Bredemus got the mother of Lisa's, who was born in 1965.

This workshop turned to become the most successful venture for this couple and even received a warm welcome from the children of Atlanta. Bredemus's gave birth to Julia Roberts in 1967. Bredemus's pregnancy caused a mixture in the workshop alliance, mainly because she had to refrain from performing several activities for the show. At the time of birth of Julia Roberts, Betty and Walter were had financial problems, and Coretta Scottkin suggested taking over the hospital bills.

 In 1972 when the workshop eventually closed after this couple got the failure to maintain their relations and this marriage ended at divorce. She married once again with Michael Motes in 1976, this couple has one daughter named Nancy. Michael Motes are offensive and irresponsible and often without work. Bredemus's and Mortis failed to run their marriage and got divorced in 1983. She came back to use her name before the wedding, Bredemus. She passed away on 19 February 2015 after fighting lung cancer in Los Angeles.
