Chuni Goswami Complete Bio & Career

Chuni Goswami’s actual name was Subimal Goswami. He was a first class cricketer and an international football player. He was born and raised in Kishoreganj District which is now in Bangladesh till partition. He then relocated to Kolkata with his family. 
 
He was one of the best footballers then used to play as centre forward. He had represented India in over 50 matches and was a part of the gold winning team at the 1962 Asian Games where he captained the national side. Under his leadership India also won the silver medal at Asia Cup in 1964 held in Tel Aviv. Throughout his career, he played for Mohun Bagan and was one of their unforgotten heroes. 
 
In addition to football, he also played cricket for Bengal Ranji Trophy team and was a fast bowler.  Post retirement, he also served as manager of Tata Football Academy and Indian National Football team as well.

Health Issues, Illness and Death Info

Chuni Goswami was suffering from prostate complications & sugar disease. He was admitted to a city hospital on 30-04-2020 (Thursday) due to breathing complications. On the same day, he died around 05:00 PM in the hospital. He died at the age of 82 in a hospital in Kolkata due to a cardiac arrest.
