From a very young age, she took piano, acting and dance classes. She attended high school at Packer Collegiate Institute and completed her graduation in Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting at the USC School of Theatre at the University of Southern California.
 
Deborah started working as an actress on television and landed her first breakout role in the much-acclaimed HBO vampire drama series, True Blood in 2008, as a juvenile and violent vampire girl, "Jessica Hamby". After gaining fame from the series, she was cast with major roles in films such as  Seven Days in Utopia, Mother's Day, Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You, Catch .44 in which she was cast opposite Forest Whitaker and Bruce Willis, and Ruby Sparks.
 
Woll's is in a serious relationship with the comedian Edward E.J. Scott. Her boyfriend’s family is troubled with choroideremia, it’s a disorder that slowly blinds its sufferer. She uses her celebrity status to good effect to help by advocating many people with the disease. She has been heard mentioning that her boyfriend's fearlessness in fighting his affliction has motivated her own fight with Celiac disease, a disease which she has been suffering since she was an infant and which is making her body rigid to foods containing gluten.
