Her acting career began with an appearance in a local stage production of ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. She has studied professional singing and ballet. She was a National Merit Scholar and attended the University of Texas at Austin and double majored in music performance and mathematics. She is a video game enthusiast and plays a variety of game genres. 
 
After appearing in several short films, television commercials and guest roles she was cast in the film ‘Bring It On Again’, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, and ‘Warm Springs’. 
 
She is well-known as the writer, creator and star of ‘The Guild’ which is said to be inspired by her personal video gaming experiences. It won the YouTube Video Award and the Yahoo! Video Award for ‘The Best Series’. It was awarded ‘Best Comedy Web Series’ for Steamy Awards in 2009. In 2012, she launched ‘Geek& Sundry’, a premium YouTube Channel which later became a part of Nerdist Industries. Her other notable television and web appearances include ‘The Legend of Neil’, ‘Dragon Age: Redemption’, ‘Eureka’, and ‘Vaginal Fantasy’.  She has written ‘You’re Never Weird on the Internet(Almost)’ and other books relating to ‘The Guild’. She has also guest starred in numerous webcasts, podcasts and YouTube shows including ‘Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning’, ‘Husbands’, ‘Dear Hank&John’ and others. 
 
She won the Streamy Award for ‘Best Female Actor in a Comedy’ in 2009 and 2010. She was named among the ‘Top 10 Web Video Creators’ by TV Week in 2008. She has also won two ‘Best Writing’ awards at IAWTV Awards for ‘The Flog’ and ‘The Guild’.
