Gareth Barry Complete Bio & Career

Barry in the year 1997 joined Aston Villa as a trainee along with Michael Standing. He played his debut match for the villa on 2nd May 1997. It was against Sheffield Wednesday. Initially, he uses to play as a central defender. Later he moved to Left Midfield before he established himself at the center of midfield.  He was part of the Villa team during the 2000 Final FA Cup. His team lost the match with 1-0 against Chelsea. In the year 2008, a match against Bolton Wanderers he scored 2 goals winning the match for his team with 4-0. He was one of the longest serving players for Aston Villa.
 
On 2nd June 2009, Barry was signed with Manchester City club with a whopping price money of 12 million Euros. He made his debut with City in the opening match of the season and let the team to victory by 2-0 against Blackburn Rovers. He scored his first goal in premier League against Manchester United hence levelling the scores by 1-1. Barry also represented his country at under 16 level and also played for under 18. He was in the senior team of England in the year 1998 with a match against the Czech Republic.
