Already at the age of 10, Rodriguez entered one of the schools in Miami. In summer, she attended special courses at the Lee Strasberg Theater. At school, Genesis actively participated in the productions of the local drama school. At a relatively young age, the girl firmly decided to become an actress.
 
As a teenager, Rodriguez continued to attend various theatrical, dance and vocal skills courses – both in local schools and in those that are well-known throughout the country. By that time, the girl’s parents had finally become convinced that their daughter was determined to become a professional actress and quite actively supported her in this endeavor. With the help of her parents, Genesis went to New York. She had a chance to study in a number of Californian educational institutions.
 
Returning to Miami, Rodriguez continued to attend private courses. At the same time, she managed to get a role in the American television series Days of Our Lives. She participated there in the period from November 2005 to January 2006. In 2010, Rodrigues played a cameo role in the film Entourage.
 
World recognition came to the actress at the age of 25, when in 2012, the Hollywood movie What to Expect When You’re Expecting came out. In this family comedy, the main roles were performed by such famous personalities as Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick, and Matthew Morrison. Genesis inherited a secondary role of Courtney.
 
A year later, she reminded of herself thanks to the role in another Hollywood comedy Identity Thief. Genesis played in this comedy the leading role of the girl Marisol. The film had a commercial success, having collected more than 173 million dollars at the box office (with a budget of $35 million). After such a triumph, Genesis won the lead role in the thriller Hours, an action-packed drama about saving people during Hurricane Katrina where she played with Paul Walker. Then she had successful roles in the films Tusk, Run All Night, Time After Time, and many other American films. In 2018, she got the role of the girl Lin in the film Delirium.
