George Lucas Complete Bio & Career

The famous actor, director, producer, filmmaker, business tycoon and well known for his creation of Star Wars and Indiana Jones, George Walton Lucas Jr., was born to Dorothy Ellinore Lucas and George Walton Lucas, Sr. He went to Modesto Junior College to study sociology, anthropology and literature. He also went to University of Southern California (USC) in School of Cinematic Arts. 
 
Lucas love to make abstract films and he also defines himself as filmmaker instead of film director. He worked as a teacher in USC teaching documentary cinematography. He made his first direction short film Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB which prove to be an awards winning movie. He was also awarded a scholarship by Warner Brothers to work on the film making of his own choice. He chose Finian’s Rainbow. He then created his company named as Lucasfilm, Ltd and made American Graffiti which was a successful movie.
 
Later on he sold Lucasfilm to The Walt Disney Company. He made his marks as a philanthropist when he founded George Lucas Educational Foundation. This is a nonprofit foundation to encourage the educational growth in schools. He almost gave half of his wealth as a charity for one reason or other.
 
His works include The Bus, Grand Prix, The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, More American Graffiti, Star Wars, Strange Music and so on. His achievements include 8 awards for different categories under different award functions and has numerous nominations for his work.

He was married to Marcia Lou Griffin and the couple adopted a daughter but they split up in 1983. He adopted two more children and became the single father. He remarried Mellody Hobson and is blessed with a daughter with her.
