Giselli Monteiro was born and brought up in Brazil. She started modeling at the young of 17 and traveled across the globe at a very young age for her modeling assignments. For one such assignment, she came to India in the year 2008. It was during this time that she met Imtiaz Ali and auditioned for the role of Jo in Deepika Padukone-Saif Ali Khan starrer film “Love Aak Kal’. However, she got selected for the role of Harleen Kaur. Her performance in the film was highly praised and was also nominated as the Most Promising Newcomer at various Award functions.
 
She got immense popularity through this film and this paved her way into various commercials. She appeared in the commercials of brands like PC Jewellers and Wills Lifestyle among others. She also appeared on the cover page of prestigious magazines like Femina, Harpers Bazaar, and Elle among others. She also walked the ramp for almost all the famous designers in India like Ranna Gill, Ritu Kumar, and Rohit Bahl among others. She then appeared in her second and last film to date called Always Kabhi Kabhi in the year 2011. The film boomed at the box-office. She though enjoyed a highly successful career in modeling until 2014 before she finally decided to bid adieu to the showbiz industry and went back to Brazil to study architecture.
