Ilene Hamann, a popular African-Indian Film Actress, model, was born in South Africa. Her mother is of Portuguese descent and her father is of Dutch descent. She completed her studies from Nico Malan School and matriculated with B aggregate. She like photography and later joined Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography for further excellence. It was then she came into notice of many people and did modelling for almost six years before making her debut in Indian cinema from Movie Rog.
 
She was on tour to Dubai, India, and Australia for prestigious modelling jobs and came to India in the year 2003 where she did editorial for Elle and L’officiel. While she was in Cape Town, she was considered as the hottest model and did ad campaigns for many International clients like British designer Stewart Parvin’s, the Bauknecht catalogue and Stihl power tools and many others. She also did modelling for Truworths, Foschini, and American Swiss.
 
Her role of Maya Solomon in Rog was inspired from the Hollywood thriller, Laura. She played the lead role in this film and become a new face of Bhatt’s camp. Though the movie was not that big hit and was a flop, she received admiration for her distinctive looks in the film.
 
Currently, she is represented by Faith Models in South Africa and managed by Star Born Talent.
