Temetrius Jamel Ja Morant is popularly known as Ja Morant. He was born on 10 August 1999. He is a professional basketball player. He gained his education from Crestwood High School situated in Sumter, South Carolina. He started playing basketball in his college days. He used to play for the Murray State racers during his college. He was named all-region's most valuable player. He became the first player in NCAA to score 20-plus points.
 
He underwent training under the guidance of his father. He used to practice in the backyard of his house and his father taught him to jump shots. Many recruiting services like ESPN or rivals did not rank Morant. He received his only major offer from NCAA Division I. He was also offered a scholarship from a coach named, Matt Mcmahon. He made his debut for Murray State on 10 November 2017 with 7 points. Morant also won the OVC championship over Belmont.
 
He soon rose to the status of the first player to record multiple triple-doubles. He was named OVC Player of the Year at the end of the season. For the 2019-2020 season, he was selected for the rising stars game. Memphis Grizzlies ranked Morant as second during the 2019 NBA draft. He signed a contract with Grizzlies for a 2-year term. Morant also scored his first career win over the Washington Wizards on 9 February 2020.
