Jacqueline Fernandez wanted to become an actress since she was a child. She started hosting television shows by the time she was 14. Post her studies, she relocated to Sri Lanka and started working as a television reporter. During her time as a reporter, she also used to participate in beauty pageants and also won the Miss Universe Sri Lanka in 2006. The same year, she also represented Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe competition. After this gig, she started getting various modeling offers and soon became one of the most sought after models in Sri Lanka.
 
For one of her modeling assignment, she came to India in 2009. During her time in India, she learned acting at Barry John’s acting school and auditioned for the role of Jasmine for the Bollywood film Aladin. She impressed Sujoy Ghosh and was finally offered the role of princess Jasmine. Thus, she made her acting debut through the Bollywood film Aladin in the year 2009. The movie boomed at the box-office but she got noticed. The following year, she was seen in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hain and Housefull. She though came to recognition after her performance in the film Murder 2. The movie was a huge hit and her performance was also highly praised. She gave another hit in Race 2 and started getting offers from the biggest producers of the industry. 
 
She was cast opposite Salman Khan in the superhit film Kick which is thus far the biggest hit of her career. In 2017, she made her Sri Lankan film debut through the film titled ‘According to Matthew’. She was recently seen in Race 3 opposite Salman Khan. She will be next seen in Tarun Mansukhani’s film titled Drive opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. In addition to films, she has also served as the judge of Dance Reality Show called ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’. She is also a noted model and has modeled for various brands such as Sony Ericson Mobiles, Khazana Jewellery, Titan, and Vega among others.
