One of the popular all-rounder players in the history of cricket, Jacques Kallis is also known as the prodigy of the modern game. Jacques, the ex-South African cricketer and current coach of the same team, he belongs to the era where he got the opportunity to battle the field with outstanding cricketers like Ricky Pointing, Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar. His constant batting of 1241 minutes in 2001-2002 in the test matches has proved to be one of the remarkable moments. 
 
Born and brought up in Cape Town, South Africa, Kallis started his interest in cricket with Wynberg Boys’ High School. The school also honored Kallis for his amazing innings by naming the cricket oval on his name in 2009. Kallis established himself in the game merely at the age of 19 when he had an ephemeral invocation in England with Netherfield CC. It was during this time when he got established in Northern England. In the next year, Kallis made his debut against England which declared him as an amazing all-rounder. 
 
Counting on his bowling, he has used this weapon quite effectively which has at times been both powerful as well as destructive too. During the time of marathon batting feats, Kallis was capable of capturing 6 wickets by giving only 53 runs playing against England in 2003 at Headingley. Even while playing in 1998-99 in Cape Town, his versatile bowling gave him a score of 2 for 34 and 5 for 90. In this way, he formed a record standing second among the South African cricketers who scored a century, fifty and claimed 5 wickets too in the Test match innings after Aubrey Faulkner. 
 
Certainly, the batting side of Kallis has also given various stunning innings that are still remembered. He proclaimed himself as one of the batsmen with international stature while playing his seventh Test innings during the Boxing Day epic played in Melbourne in the year 1997. This match brought him to the score of 101 which couldn’t even be dislocated by Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath when he helped his team win the match for South Africa. 
 
Over his entire cricket journey, Kallis has provided his fans with various fun to watch innings and performances be it bowling or batting. Kallis is currently serving as the coach of the same team inspiring the young cricketers for a fair game to meet the highest sportsmanship standards. He has served as the head coach and batting consultant for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2015 during the Indian Premier League. He coached KKR for next 3 editions till 2018.  The holder of various awards and achievements, Kallis has also established the Jacques Kallis Scholarship Foundation with the aim of promoting life and academic skills providing with both mentor and funding support.
