James Martin Complete Bio & Career

He attended Malton School and didn’t do much academics due to unidentified dyslexia. Martin later attended Scarborough Technical College to study catering. Later he worked at several reputed restaurants in France and London. 
 
His first television appearance was in 1996 where he featured in shows like ‘Ready Steady Cook’, ‘The Big Breakfast’ and ‘James Martin: Yorkshire’s Finest’. With Alistair Appleton, he co-presented the BBC Food’s show ‘Stately Suppers’. He gained huge popularity as the host of the BBC One television show ‘Saturday Kitchen’. He also featured in a show titled ‘Sweet Baby James’ on BBC Two which mainly concentrated on puddings, cakes and desserts. He was also a part of the BBC One show ‘The Great British Village Show’. He also appeared on a series called ‘Eating with the Enemy’ on BBC. Martin hosted the show named ‘Racing Legends: Sir Jackie Stewart’ in December 2012. He covered about 600 miles along the East Coast of the United States of America for a series titled ‘United Cakes of America’. He also featured on the 2013 BBC One Show ‘The Great British Budget Menu’. He is a judge for the CBBC show ‘Junior Bake Off’. He filmed the series ‘James Martin: Home Comforts’ from his home’s kitchen for BBC One. Also, he hosted the cookery series ‘The Box’ on BBC One. He also hosts ‘Saturday Morning with James Martin’ on ITV. 
 
He finished at the fourth position in the television reality show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with Camilla Dallerup. He has his own restaurants in Leeds, North Yorkshire and Manchester. He has authored over 10 books on cookery and receipts. He is a performance car enthusiast and he also has a private pilot license.
