Javier Matías Pastore is one of the most famous Argentine footballer. He started his youth career with Argentine club Talleres in the year 2002. He was advanced to their senior team in 2007. He was just 20 years old when he arrived in Europe after he was signed on by Italian club Palermo in 2009. He was by then already considered as the hottest prospects in Argentina and one of the best midfielder around. He made a lot of buzz after French club Paris Saint-Germain bought him for a reported €39.8 million. He made 186 appearances for them in 7 seasons that he played for them. He won various honours with the club including 5 Ligue 1 titles. In 2018, he joined the Italin club Roma for a fee of €24.7 million. 

 

He is a pat of Argentine national team since 2010. It was then Argentina's head coach Diego Maradona, he drafted him in Argentina's 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. However, he hasn't translated his club performances at the international level and has often used as a substitute. Arguably one of the most creative and gifted player with close control and excellent dribbling skills. He is nicknamed "El Flaco" due to his tall and slender build. 

 

He along with his teammate Ever Banega and two renowned animal rights advocates, María Belén Scardilli and Marianela Gaitán has established  a non-profit organization named Soplo de Vida which is dedicated to the protectionism of cats and dogs.
