Joel attended a classical high school where he studied various subjects like Latin, Logic and Classical Literature. Before he was into acting during his free time he used to enjoy playing games like basketball, lacrosse, running cross country and track and he also started swimming very competitively at age of four. 
 
Joel was always eager to get into acting since his childhood. He wanted to get into commercial and earn $100 which came as a fortune to him. When Joel was in Los Angeles, he met Patti Kalles who asked him to go for an audition for Super 8 and he was lucky enough to get selected and started with it in 2011. 
 
He entered into the industry in 2011 with his first release in Super 8. He also won a Saturn Award for his best performances as a young actor in this movie. Since then he has done many movies Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn, The Between, Rogue and several others. He has won two awards but was nominated for more than five.
 
He is a very versatile Actor and his efforts in this industry have made him successful and made him reach heights. Some of Joel interest and likes are, he likes rock and light rap and his favorite colors are orange, purple, red and blue. His favorite brand is Nike, favorite Starbucks drink is Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino.
