Leonard Whiting is an actor and singer from England. He studied at the St. Richard of Chichester School and was soon cast in Franco Zeffirelli film version of Romeo and Juliet.  
 
At the age of 12, Whiting appeared in musicals and also in the production of ‘Congreve’s Love for Love’ at the Laurence Oliver’s National Theater. The film ‘Romeo and Juliet’ collected over $38.9 million in the box office and proved to be very successful. Whiting’s performance was highly acclaimed and he was touted as the next great British actor. The role in the film earned Whiting the ‘New Star of the Year Award’ at the Golden Globe Awards. 
 
His other notables film roles are in ‘The Royal Hunt of the Sun’, ‘Rachel’s Man’, and ‘Say Hello to Yesterday’. He also appeared in the NBC TV film ‘Frankenstein: The True Story’. 
 
As a singer, he also featured on the song ‘The Raven’ from Alan Parson’s album ‘Tales of Mystery and Imagination’. He reunited with his ‘Romeo and Juliet’ partner Olivia Hussey for the 2015 film ‘Social Suicide’.
