Marcel Pagnol was born on 28-02-1895 in Aubagne, Bouches du Rhone, France. He was a French Film Director, Film Producer, Screenwriter, Dramatist, Playwright, Writer, Novelist, Translator & Author.

Marcel Pagnol Complete Bio & Career

Marcel Pagnol was arguably one of the greatest French novelist. He came to the public eye after his comedy entitled antimilitarist Court Les marchands de glorie ('merchants of glory') released in the year 1925. His popularity increased after release of his comedy Topaz, a satire on businessmen of his time. He carried on the success and with the release of his trilogy, composed by Marius, Fanny and César, he became immortal. 
 
After a while, he dedicated himself to adapt texts for the autobiographical books and the films. His famous works include Le Château da ma Mère ('the castle of my mother') and  La gloire de mon Père ('the glory of my father') among others. His posthumous book released entitled Il tempo degli amori in the year 1977 and was considered as his best work. He adapted his own film Manon des Sources, with his wife Jacqueline in the title role, into two novels, Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources, collectively titled L'Eau des Collines.
 
He was arguably one of the greatest and therefore Google honoured his achievements with a Doodle on 28-02-2020 which was his 125th birth anniversary. He spent the later years of his life in Paris and that is where he achieved all his success and fame.
