Mary-Kate Olsen had appeared on the popular ABC sitcom ‘FullHouse’ along with her fraternal twin sister Ashley at the age of nine months. They played the role of Michelle Tanner on the series from 1987 to 1995. These twin sisters released several direct-to-video films under their company, Dualstar. The rights for their video library is currently owned by Nickelodeon. They continued to star in other sitcoms like So Little and Two of a Kind. Several of these ventures and other licensing deals made them wealthy at a very young age. After the Olsen twins attained eighteen years of age, they became the presidents and joint CEO of Dualstar, which had thousands of outlets of their merchandises spread across the country and the globe. Olsen’s debut solo acting was in the 2006 movie ‘Factory Girl’. She later appeared in movies like ‘Beastly’, ‘Weeds’ and ‘The Wackness’. She has won Young Artists Award, Teen Choice Awards in her acting career.
 
After retiring from acting career, the Olsen twins focused on Fashion designing. Their initial venture was the clothing line ‘Mary-Kate and Ashley: Real fashion for real girls’ in WalMart stores. They are the faces of fashion labels like ‘Olsenboye’, ‘Elizabeth and James’, ‘StyleMint’ and ‘The Row’.
 
The Twins won the Innovator of the Year Award by the WSJ Magazine in 2012. They also bagged the first prize at the CFDA Fashion Awards in the same year. They also won the Innovator of the Year: Fashion by the Wall Street Journal in 2012. For their label ‘The Row’, they have won several awards including Womenswear Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year for consecutive years. In 2015, Mary Kate Olsen was appointed to the Council of Fashion Designers.
