Matthew Broderick Complete Bio & Career

In his early days, Matthew took up acting at the New York's upper-crust Walden School. He was into sports but was ruled out from his sporting interest which he had in football due to a severe knee injury. His father was instrumental in him making his stage debut at the age of 17 in a workshop production of the play titled "On Valentine's Day". Matthew's further his acting career by working in parts in two famous Neil Simon ventures.
 
Broderick enjoyed his first silver screen success through the light comedy film titled WarGames in 1983. Thereafter, he has had his share of misses and hits, with some of his noted films including Project X in which he was cast opposite Helen Hunt, whom at some point in time he dated; Addicted to Love in 1997; and the super hit film Inspector Gadget in 1999. 
 
In the year 1985, he was intricated in a moot car accident in Ireland along with his former fiancé named Jennifer Grey. In that crash, a woman and her little daughter were killed. Broderick paid an amount to the victim’s family and got out of it. Incidentally, he too broke his leg in the same accident and it all happened just before the release of the biggest hit of the career Ferris Bueller's Day Off. His other hit films include Godzilla in 1998. 
 
Broderick decided to return to Broadway in 2001 with the musical smash "The Producers". He gave one of his best performances and was also nominated for the coveted Tony Award.
