Though a Swedish citizen, Pragya was of Indian origin. Pragya took her acting lessons at the Institute of Advanced Acting and Behavioral Studies. She was a successful model for many years. She finally made her Hindi film debut as a lead Actress in Amol Gupte’s Hawaa Hawai in 2014. The film was a critical success and received many positive reviews. Thus far, Hawaa Hawai is the only movie she has acted in. Post Hawaa Hawai she has been actively involved with theater.
 
On the personal front, Pragya Yadav Kapoor married Hindi Film Actor and Director Abhishek Kapoor on 4th May 2015, whom she first met at a concert and the couple was in a live-in relationship before getting married. The couple tied knots at Iskcon Temple in Juhu, Mumbai. The couple is blessed with a baby boy on November 12, 2015.
