Rebecca Black is a YouTuber and a singer. She mainly gained fame for her single “Friday” which released in 2011. The song went viral on various social media sites and has been dubbed as “the worst song ever” by various critics. The singer attended private school until sixth grade, and then she moved to public school. She joined the musical theatre program.
 
In 2010, Black’s mother paid Ark Music to produce the music video for “Friday”. The song went viral after one month of being uploaded on YouTube. It became the most-talked-about topic on Twitter, and within the first week of its release, it has sales of about 40,000 according to Billboard. The song has been on the top charts like Billboard Hot 100 and New Zealand Singles Chart. Black appeared in the music video for the song “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” by Katy Perry. The song was YouTube’s number one video of 2011 and has amassed over three million and one hundred ninety thousand dislikes.
 
Black had a fall out with the Ark Music Factory and began her own label record called RB Records, She released “My Moment” in 2011. She released other singles including “Person of Interest”, “Sing It”, and “In Your Words”. The singer was signed to the Maker Studios YouTube network in 2011 and later was brought to Australia to promote the launch of Telstra’s 4G device. She released the song “Saturday” which is a sequel to Friday, and it was also on the top charts, like Billboard Hot 100.
