Samuel Benchetrit Complete Bio & Career

Samuel Benchetrit was born in a lower-class family. He had to quit schooling at the young age of 15 to start working. He did various small and odd jobs like an usher in a theatre or an assistant of a photographer. 
 
He finally made his cinematic debut as a director of the film titled Saint Valentin in 1995. After directing, he few films, he started with screen writing and his debut as a screen writer of the film called Nouvelle de la tour L. Besides that, he also directed that film. He finally made his acting debut through the French comedy film titled Janis et John in 2003. He played a cameo role in this film and was also the director of the film. After which, he has acted in numerous films. He is best known for his films like Chez Gino and Macadam Stories. 
 
In addition to actor, director and screen writer, he has also authored various novels. His first novel titled Récit d’un Branleur was published in 2000. To date, he has published 7 novels.

He was born to Charles and Michèle. He was married to Marie Trintignant from 1998 until her death in 2003. Together the couple had a son named Jules Benchetrit. He is currently in a relationship with French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.
