Samuel L Jackson is a versatile actor and has acted in more than 100 films. He used to play French Horn and Trumpet in the school orchestra. He joined the local acting group and there his interest towards acting grew. In 1972, he co-founded ‘Just Us Theatre’
Jackson was also involved in Civil Rights Movement. In 1968, he attended the funeral of Martin Luther King Jr and participated in protest marches. In 1969 he also held College trustees hostage demanding reformation in the curriculum.
After doing television and theatre made his debut with Together for Days in 1972. He spent next 10 years in theatre acting in plays The Piano Lesson and Two Trains Running. Morgan Freeman was the man who mentored and motivated Jackson. In the 1980s The School Daze, Do the Right Thing, Goodfellas, and The Cosby Show.
In the 1990s his major films were Jungle Fever, Strictly Business, Juice, Patriot Games, Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, Die Hard with a Vengeance, A Time to Kill, Jackie Brown etc.
His prominent movies in the 2000s were Rules of Engagement, Unbreakable, The Caveman’s Valentine, Changing Lanes, xXx, The 51st State, etc. In the 2010s he appeared in Mother and Child, The Other Guys, The Sunset Limited. He also worked for Marvels in Avengers, Thor, Iron Man and Captain America.
